Nashville. Home of country music, the Grand Ole Opry and entertaining honky tonks. But last week, it was also home to some of the brightest insights and coolest advances in Market Research, including LRW’s own Virtual Reality lab.  Now it’s never cool to brag, so we thought we would let you see for yourselves how attendees responded to the adventure of entering a virtual world. Watch them explore the power of immersive experiences to better understand consumer behavior, branding, marketing and research.

Take a look.

(BELOW (L-R): VR lab experience collage, the VR lab room, video of participants…do you spot yourself?)

No, we still haven’t come down from it.   On top of game-changing technologies, we also heard from leading thinkers. Our award ceremony … (drumroll please):

From best-selling author, Malcolm Gladwell:

“The inverted u-shape curve causes us to make grievous errors.”

From leading speaker on gamification, Jane McGonigal

“Gaming can help us solve the world’s biggest problems.”

From business author Daniel Pink:

“Seller beware. Information parity changes everything.”

From Dr. Jeffrey Cole

“Brands need to look at ‘out there’ technologies. Your learning curve must be steeper than your action curve.”

From Jeremy Sack, PhD:

“Brand stereotypes create reality, resist change but CAN change, and are part of who we are.”

BEST FOOD: USamp

Waffle bar. The booth’s scent promised deliciousness and the gooey goodness did NOT disappoint.

BEST QUOTE: Jared Weiner

“Sack & Weiner: the best combo of the event,” said by Wiener, referring to himself and fellow keynote Jeremy Sack’s back-to-back scheduling.

BEST HAIR: Malcolm Gladwell (& Joan Lewis)

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and VR lab. Y’all come back now, ya hear?

  1. Love it! For anyone who hasn’t had the opportunity to experience this, seeing other people’s reactions is probably the next best thing. Anyone out there wondering how to bring this to their company and have their colleagues “cross the pit”? 🙂

  2. Such an amazing experience and so glad I was able to be apart of this! Definitely worth watching the video if you weren’t able to cross the pit yourself.
